Jawan from Survivor 49 reveals he’s in therapy because of show

Survivor 49 castaway Jawan Pitts is still dealing with the fallout from his time in Fiji. In a new interview, Jawan revealed that he is in therapy because of what happened on the show.

As viewers already saw, Jawan became the fourth straight Black player to be voted out. He joined Nate Moore, Michelle “MC” Chukwujekwu, and Alex Moore on the Survivor 49 jury.

It’s certainly something many fans noticed as Jawan was voted out during the tenth episode. Obviously, it then became a topic of conversation during his exit interviews.

As a reminder, Jawan was voted out after Rizo fooled the players and viewers with a Fake Immunity Idol.

Speaking with the New York Post, Jawan was asked about the spotlight that is now on the fact that four Black players were voted off consecutively.

“First off, it was a topic of discussion out there. Like, me and Kristina [Mills] had a back and forth about it, you know?” Jawan began. “I think as a viewer it’s hard to watch, you know? Like, you know? When it happened in 42, I definitely, you know… I’m a part of the community too, so I definitely felt it.”

“But I think in the game, it was so hard to put a pin on it, you know? And even experienced it. I’m going to therapy to truly kind of process. I’m like, ‘what? Why? Why did that happen?’ You know?” Jawan revealed.

“But I will say, at least from my perspective, and I can only speak on me, I don’t think there was any alternative motives. I think the game was so fluid and there was so many things, some Advantages, variables. So I think that’s how I feel personally,” Jawan finished his answer.

Jawan’s full exit interview is shared below. He touches on many additional topics, but nothing tops his admission of being in therapy now. We at Tea on TV wish him the best with that endeavor, because reality TV can be really hard at times.
