Kelly Ripa hints at a wanted move for Live with Kelly and Mark

Kelly Ripa shared some news in a recent host chat on Live with Kelly and Mark that hints at a much-wanted change for the show.

Kelly and her husband, Mark Consuelos, continue to campaign for the show to relocate from New York City to a warmer location, and this may happen if they get their way.

LIVE moves locations several times during the season, sometimes to Las Vegas or Hollywood for award shows or other special events, but this change would be different.

Kelly and Mark fell in love with a special location in California and have repeatedly tried to move the show since then.

While Kelly is vocal about retiring soon, a move to this warm locale could be the key to extending her time on live television.

During a pre-recorded host chat on LIVE, Kelly and Mark discussed vacations that combine business with pleasure and dropped a hint about a sought-after “winter residency.”

Kelly and Mark set their sights on Palm Springs once again

Last fall, Kelly brought her show to Palm Springs for a series of four episodes taped at The Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa.

Kelly and Mark love the area so much that they plan to retire there when their commitments in NYC come to an end. During one of the episodes, Kelly went on a historical tour of Palm Springs. The video is available below and on LIVE’s YouTube channel.

The long-time married couple fell in love with the area and, if things go their way, want to set up a “winter residency” there.

During a recent host chat on LIVE, Kelly said to Michael Gelman, “You know, Gelman, there’s talk of a winter residency.” Mark continued, “In beautiful Palm Springs or some island down south.” The couple made it clear to Gelman, LIVE’s executive producer, that they could invite guests and the audience to Palm Springs.

Gelman, knowing that Kelly and Mark are relentless in this pursuit, nodded and said, “Totally onboard.”

Kelly instructed him to “Get on it!”

Any change to LIVE is welcome, especially since no one likes their new cold studio space.

LIVE with Kelly and Mark airs weekdays on ABC.
