Survivor 51: Everything you need to know about new season

It’s time to get excited about Survivor 51. The 50th season recently finished airing on CBS, and now a new era begins for the hit show.

Will long-time fans enjoy the new era? Host Jeff Probst sure hopes so, and the first TV promo certainly points to chaos and drama.

The great news for some viewers is that this upcoming season features an entirely new cast. We are done celebrating the past (for now), and the show is moving forward with fresh faces.

Also, we are being treated with a huge cast (21 people). The producers found out how well it could work during Season 50, and they went all-out for the next season. We at Tea on TV are very excited.

Where was Survivor 51 filmed?

The new season was filmed in Fiji. Yes, roughly the same locations we have seen for years. But the producers are doing this to save on costs and keep the show airing for many years to come.

When will the new season air on CBS?

Season 51 airs on CBS during Fall 2026. Big Brother takes over Wednesday nights this summer, and as the show wraps up its new season in September, that’s when Survivor returns.

As always, previous Survivor seasons are streaming on Paramount+.

Odds and ends about the new Survivor season

The prize for winning remains at $1 million, despite the increase during Season 50 (thanks to MrBeast).

Jeff Probst returns as host again, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Why would anyone want to quit a gig that lets him travel each spring?

How about a rumor? Some online rumors state that they will play as two tribes. But that doesn’t seem to make sense with 21 players? Could we see some new twists? Stay tuned!
