“Tiny steps,” he added.
How Season 50 does with the viewers may help dictate direction. There has already been a push for the show to return to an Old School feel, but cross-promotion has become the New Era.
The topic of retirement also came up. Online rumors about Jeff Probst leaving Survivor always surface, especially after 50 seasons under his belt.
“My fear is that somebody goes, ‘Why don’t we get somebody new and fresh and different and get rid of Probst?’” he stated.
“I’m flattered about that. If you like Survivor, then on some level you also like a part of me,” Jeff added when it was mentioned that people keep asking when he might leave. “I put my soul into this. My blood is all over that show. Every idea I ever have goes into the show.”
It sounds like Jeff is committed to sticking around. That’s great news for the show, even though arguments could be made about the importance of new blood.
