Johnny Bananas received backlash from The Challenge fans after new remarks about his Vets and New Threats rookie castmate, America Lopez.
The former Big Brother star made headlines a week ago when Bananas spilled the tea about America’s drunken antics on a cast bus ride home after the club.
During a Season 41 preview trailer, viewers saw a scene where America and castmate Dee Valladares were kissing on the bus.
Allegedly, America attempted to make out with multiple castmates during the bus trip and continued her antics with others once they arrived at The Challenge house.
Bananas shared the gossip on his Death, Taxes and Bananas podcast after getting eliminated in Episode 4, including a mention of America trying something with CT Tamburello.
CT and castmates shut down that part of the rumors. However, Bananas returned to form on social media after sharing his reaction to something America said in Episode 5.
Bananas reacts to America’s Episode 5 scene
At the end of the latest episode of Vets and New Threats, host TJ Lavin had the cast members select their new teammates. He called upon them individually to make their picks.
Bananas shared the part of the episode where TJ asked rookie America Lopez to select her new partner.
“Ok, TJ, so I’ve gone through every vet man,” she said, looking around at her options.
Bananas added a clip of himself as he was drinking a glass of water, and then immediately spat it out in reaction to her comment.
“God Bless America,” he wrote as his message with his X video upload.
Most likely, Bananas was poking fun at America’s drunken makeouts from that bus ride after the club. However, castmates, including CT Tamburello, shut down the rumors that she tried anything with him.
At the time of filming, America was reportedly dating her former Big Brother co-star, Cory Wurtenberger, which fueled online gossip that she cheated on him with CT.
That part doesn’t appear to be true. However, based on the preview scene and her castmates’ stories, she “made out with” several castmates and attempted to kiss others.
According to rookie castmate Ben Davis, America also had an interaction with Theo Campbell at The Challenge house, which prompted Theo’s girlfriend, Olivia Kaiser, to sit America down for a chat.
Fans called out Bananas for being ‘obsessed’
In the comment section for Bananas’ latest social media post, some fans reacted to the humor, and multiple fans slammed him for the joke about America.
“i was never even a fan of America, but being in your 40s talking about a female in her 20s like this… acc disgusting,” one fan commented.
Another replied to Bananas’ post, “America has you so mad.”
“You’re obsessed with her maybe you need a timeout,” a fan commented.
Others replied, “Who’s living rent free???,” “obsessed old man,” and “you’re obsessed” to the seven-time Challenge champ.
America hasn’t really addressed what happened during the show, as she’s mostly been posting on social media about her previous show, Big Brother.
As mentioned, CT recently posted to address the cheating rumors and said America didn’t try anything with him. He also called out the gossipers for circulating speculation involving him and his castmate.
As of Episode 5, America is still participating in the season and getting some screen time, while Bananas watches from the sidelines and takes shots at castmates.
