After the second episode of The Challenge: Vets and New Threats, Zach Nichols couldn’t hold back with his opinions.
The new season features many rookies, from shows such as Married at First Sight, Big Brother, Survivor, and more.
So far, the rookies have delivered through the first several episodes. That’s included quips and drama involving Blue Kim, Justin Hinsley, and Will Gagnon.
Will debuted on The Challenge 41 after first appearing on Are You the One? 9, and in Episode 2, viewers learned about his history with fellow rookie Dee Valladeres.
It just so happened that Johnny Bananas started fancying Dee at The Challenge house, leading to a showmance.
Will revealed that he and Dee had previously hooked up at the hotel before filming. However, he lost it when he saw her cozy with Bananas.
Zach gave his take on Season 41 rookie and Bananas
On a recent episode of The Zach Nichols Podcast, the former Battle of the Seasons winner shared thoughts about the Will and Bananas drama.
“This was probably one of the most unintentionally hilarious episodes of The Challenge I’ve ever seen,” Zach said.
“Could you imagine being 26 years old and losing your girl to someone 18 years older than you, and he’s wearing a fanny pack?” he asked.
Zach told his co-host, Pierre Bacall, that he “rarely texts cast members,” but had to text Johnny Bananas about what he saw on this episode.
According to Zach, he texted Bananas: “This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on national television.”
Zach referred to Will as “authentically crazy” for what transpired in the episode after saying he and Dee were “hooking up,” but he was just there to win The Challenge now.
“It literally escalated into him…going fully Andy Bernard,” he said about Will, referring to a character on The Office punching a wall.
“I couldn’t even stop laughing, and it wasn’t even supposed to be funny,” Zach said.
Bananas also threw shade at rookie castmate
On his official X, Bananas shared a few jokes about Will becoming upset after seeing him with Dee.
“First date going great… except her dad came too,” he wrote over a pair of photos showing Bananas with Dee and Will behind them looking upset.
“Bananalicious, definition make them boys go loco 🤪 👊 #TheChallenge41,” he wrote in another X message.
Along with that, Bananas shared a fan’s GIF and message suggesting he is “Mr Steal Yo girrrl.”
In the episode, Will certainly added to the drama due to getting drunk and becoming unhinged over a hookup. Rookie Blue Kim revealed that Will had an unaired bus fight that never made it into the final episode.
Bananas, Dee, and Will return for Episode 3, and fans are anxious to see if anything else occurs in this crazy showmance love triangle!
