The Traitors issues anti-bullying statement, fans react

The Traitors 4 has been packed with drama, both on-screen and off. But some of it has crossed the line, and the show just issued an anti-bullying statement.

Fans are split on what the statement is about. Some feel it is a direct result of the pushback Colton Underwood (from The Bachelor) has received. Others think it is due to how negatively comedian Ron Funches was treated on the show.

Some Traitors fans are upset that a statement wasn’t issued when Big Brother’s Danielle Reyes and Survivor’s Carolyn Wiger had to deal with similar issues. They appeared on previous seasons of The Traitors.

There has also been some drama between cast members off-screen. Porsha Williams shaded Lisa Rinna in a big way during a recent TV appearance. Having a fellow Housewife turn on her was the last straw.

Regarding the on-screen drama, comedian Michael Rapaport blew up at Colton Underwood during a recent episode. It led to much discussion on social media and a pushback from fans about both cast members.

Colton has addressed the situation with Michael. But fans will see them on the same stage again for the Traitors 4 Reunion Show.

The Traitors issues an anti-bullying statement

The anti-bullying statement was released on Saturday (January 24). It immediately got social media buzzing.

“We are committed to making our casts feel safe, respected, and supported – on screen and off,” begins the statement.

“The cast of The Traitors are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyberbullying or harassment. There’s a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals,” the message continues.

“Let’s not ruin the passion for this show with unwarranted negativity and personal attacks. We appreciate your support,” the statement ended.

No caption was provided with the online message. But many fans had guesses.

Fans get feisty with their responses

Many fans of The Traitors have already shared their thoughts on the social media statement.

“The hate for Colton and Michael existed long before they were even cast for Season 4. Let that be clear,” wrote one fan.

“Reality tv fans don’t understand that these people are real and not characters. Lame asf to threaten people,” responded a fan who felt the statement resonated with them.

Some fans had a hard time holding back their anger.

“You absolutely cannot be serious if this is about colton. his ex girlfriend had to get a restraining order against him which he violated several times. he was stalking and harassing her. try and think critically about the message you’re sending with this,” posted a viewer.

“Where was this post when everyone was cyberbullying Danielle and Carolyn last season??? So we only care when it’s white men??? How do you manage to fumble the hype bag TWO F*****G SHOWS BACK TO BACK???? LIUSA 25 and Now Traitors USA??? F**k alll the way off,” answered a really angry fan.

The drama continues on The Traitors 4 on Thursday nights this winter. Previous episodes are available for streaming on Peacock.
