Chicago Fire recently said goodbye to Chief Dom Pascal.
Actor Dermot Mulroney joined the show as Pascal, who replaced Wallace Boden at Firehouse 51.
Boden was promoted through the ranks, and actor Eamonn Walker left the full-time cast.
Enter Mulroney as Pascal, with some really difficult shoes to fill.
Though Pascal was at odds with many people at Firehouse 51, things got smoother the longer he was in the role.
So when he exited, there were certainly some emotions from his co-workers.
What happened to Chief Pascal on Chicago Fire?
For much of the Chicago Fire Season 14, Chief Dom Pascal was at odds with the brass and city officials. He was not keen to accept budget cuts or staff replacements at his firehouse. This put him in the crosshairs should anything ever go wrong.
Then, during the big three-show crossover event, Pascal disobeyed the orders of a federal agent to stand down while collecting evidence at a fire. But Pascal rarely stands down. He went into the house and secretly gathered evidence, leading to his arrest.
Due to his ties within the department, Pascal avoided going to prison as the charges were dropped. But it wasn’t enough to save his job.
On Chicago Fire Season 14, Episode 14, the writers jumped right into revealing that Pascal was out. A majority of the episode was spent saying his goodbyes and speaking candidly with Mouch, Kelly Severide, and Stella Kidd in one-on-one sessions.
March 11 marked the end of Dermot Mulroney’s run on the show. Maybe it’s only temporary? The door is certainly open for a return, but nothing has been officially stated yet.
For now, Battalion Chief Andre Hopkins (played by Rob Morgan) has taken Pascal’s old office. And he has it in for Severide, who seemed like the natural person to take leadership at the house. As Tea on TV previously reported, Hopkins won’t be around forever. But what’s next is a mystery.
And don’t feel bad for Mulroney in the interim. He’s off filming The Hunting Wives Season 2.
