The Chicago P.D. season finale is coming up quickly.
Then, the long summer hiatus begins for the show. Again.
But there is also some good news in the mix.
NBC has already ordered Chicago P.D. Season 14 for next year.
The network remains committed to its Wednesday night show, despite any rumors to the contrary.
So while we will all be disappointed when Chicago P.D. Season 13 ends this spring, at least we can look forward to next year.
How many Chicago P.D. episodes are there this season?
As previously reported by Tea on TV, there are 21 episodes in Chicago P.D. Season 13.
Thus far, 16 episodes have aired this year. Episode 17 will debut on April 8.
After that, five episodes remain until the summer break.
NBC also stated that its summer lineup begins on Wednesday, May 27.
This means the finales for Med, Fire, and PD have to come earlier in the month.
When is the Chicago P.D. season finale?
NBC has reported that the season finale is on Wednesday, May 13.
NBC should provide more clarity on themes as the editing phase continues for those final episodes. The cast has already teased that they are done filming for the year. We are hoping to get some spoilers about what will be covered in the final episodes this May.
Below is a breakdown of the tentative remaining schedule of Season 13 episodes:
- April 8: Episode 17 (Partners)
- April 15: Repeat Episode
- April 22: Episode 18 (TBD)
- April 29: Episode 19 (TBD)
- May 6: Episode 20 (TBD)
- May 13: Episode 21 – Season Finale (TBD)
We will update the episode list if changes hit in the next few days or weeks.
New episodes air at 10/9c on Wednesday nights. Previous episodes are available for streaming on Peacock.
More news from the One Chicago shows
Upcoming P.D. episodes will include some big changes for Detective Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and her husband, Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger). They plan to make a big move for their daughter.
Here’s a look at the remaining schedule for Fire. Season 14 has provided some big twists within the cast.
Chicago Fire also has a new chief, and here is where you know him from. His first appearance is during the April 1 episode, which could cause friction with Kelly Severide (played by Taylor Kinney).
Previously, the city fired Chief Dom Pascal. Dermot Mulroney had to step away to work on his other show, The Hunting Wives. It has forced more changes at Firehouse 51.
