The Challenge’s Wes Bergmann reacts to losing nearly a thousand followers

The Challenge legend Wes Bergmann made a shocking revelation on social media.

The reality TV star says he lost nearly a thousand social media followers simply for sharing “positive” videos about the 2026 World Cup.

Earlier in June, Wes shared a video about Argentina playing Algeria in the World Cup. In it, he spoke about how long he has been playing soccer and that he has been a fan for years.

“I’ve been playing soccer since I was old enough to kick a ball,” Wes stated. He had more to add.

“It was not just a sport in my house, Wes elaborated. “It was a lifestyle. Seven days a week, year round.”

That background led Wes to take his parents to the recent World Cup game.

Wes has shared a new reaction video based on what has happened on social media.

“The World Cup is bigger than the sport it houses. It’s the closest thing to a global language there is. Learn it,” reads the post’s caption.

“I lost close to a thousand followers for reposting positive content about the World Cup in the last day or so,” Wes states as the video begins.

“I want to be very clear: when I post content about the World Cup, I am not making a political statement. I’m posting about the tournament that I have loved since childhood. One that makes me think of my dad. One that filled my living room with some of my favorite people, some of whom are no longer here,” Wes added.

He continues, sharing why he loves the tournament, how it has brought him closer to people around the world, and why he loves soccer so much.

“This is not controversial; this is just beautiful,” Wes elaborated. “If you unfollowed me for celebrating that, I genuinely wish you well, and I mean that, but I also wanna say this as directly as I know how: the lens you are looking through is making your life worse. The obsession with finding a political angle in everything is not protecting you. It is isolating you. It is costing you relationships, and opportunities, and joy that you do not even know that you are missing. I’m not asking you to change your politics. I’m asking you to look at the person next to you and figure out how to be their friend anyway.”

He finished the video by saying the United States would be making an historic run in the World Cup.
