Chicago Fire spoilers: Actor gives us reason to be worried about Herrmann

The new episode of Chicago Fire revolves around a fire at the Herrmann house. And now some comments from the actor who plays Christopher Herrmann have us worried about what happens next.

Chicago Fire Season 14, Episode 4 debuts on Wednesday, October 22. As we saw in the preview, Firehouse 51 responds to a fire at the house of one of its own.

The preview also hints that Herrmann’s daughter was home when the fire broke out, but we will have to wait for the episode to learn what has happened.

“Firehouse 51 must band together after a devastating fire catches them off guard; Vasquez continues his quest for answers; Violet and Novak face an unexpected roadblock in the new training protocol,” reads the full synopsis for the new episode called Mercy.

Chicago Fire spoilers about the new episode

Actor David Eigenberg (he plays Herrmann) answered some questions about the upcoming episode. He addressed the emotions Herrmann will be dealing with and touched on what fans can expect.

“It’s a bit of a mystery of a reveal,” Eigenberg stated when asked what caused the fire. “It gets tied into Herrmann a bit and what happened and was he responsible for it, which would be another awful feeling.”

Later in his interview with TV Insider, Eigenberg also spoke about how Herrmann will react to the fire.

“I think in some ways, Herrmann is so banged up by it. He isolates himself a little bit. I mean, 51 is there and is always there for the family of their firehouse. Herrmann has a different road, a path to choose in the isolation that he kind of puts himself into,” elaborated Eigenberg.

It’s safe to assume Mouch (played by Christian Stolte) will try to be there for his friend. Their relationship has been a tad strained lately, but Mouch always steps up.

Below is the TV promo for the new episode, which definitely raises the stakes for the night. It also leads into a dramatic Chicago P.D. promo for the October 22 episode.

Previous episodes of Fire and P.D. are available to stream on Peacock.
