Survivor 51’s Ori recruited for the show and dated Jelly?

Survivor 51 said goodbye to Ori Jean-Charles, but his exit interviews have been interesting.

Ori was voted out during Episode 6. His tribe lost another Immunity Challenge, forcing the final three members to go to Tribal Council.

He was also one episode away from making the Merge. Footage from Episode 7 teases that big moment.

Now we are hearing directly from Ori, and he had some interesting things to say about Season 51.

Ori is a recruit for Survivor 51

In a new interview with Dalton Ross from Entertainment Weekly, Ori shared a funny story about how he came to know Survivor.

As Ori tells it, he had never even watched an episode of Survivor before someone from production reached out to him.

“It’s so funny because a young lady caught me on a dating site. And I don’t really use it, so I wasn’t on it. I didn’t check it. So I don’t know if she did her CIA/FBI work or she liked me that much, but she ended up finding me on a social media app and DMing me,” Ori told Entertainment Weekly.

“She said verbatim, ‘I know we can’t hang out, but you look beautiful. You need to be on TV,'” he added.

Ori then went through the vetting process and made the show. He then spent time watching past seasons to learn the game.

“I splurged the 40s, just knowing, that’s the most recent thing and I could pick up game from that. But then find out it’s permanent uncertainty, so I wasted my time doing that. And, you know, the OG seasons, Cagayan, Heroes vs. Villains — I watched a lot of real notable seasons,” Ori told Dalton Ross.

Ori teases how he went on a date with Jelly

Part of the interview involved joking about how Ori and Jelly spoke about going on a New York date while on Survivor. She wasn’t feeling it, and he had to pivot.

But it turns out that Ori and Jelly DID go on a date!

Dalton Ross asked Ori point-blank if he went on a date with Jelly.

“Come on, Dalton. Like I said, I gotta keep some things close. But yes, me and Jelly have hung out in New York, and like I said, we get along real well. She’s a very, very cool girl, for sure,” the Survivor 51 alum responded.

Well, that’s fun! We can’t wait to hear Jelly’s side of things later this winter!

Becca Devens revealed she has breast cancer. She is the wife of Survivor legend Rick Devens.

Season 51 reveals a secret scene. It should have just been in the episode.

Survivor fans do not like the three-tribe format. They really enjoyed a return to two tribes this season.

The cast for The Traitors USA Season 6 is here. It features winners from Survivor and Big Brother.

A Survivor alum went missing with her son. His father is also a former castaway.
