When The Challenge returns for Season 41, viewers will see a star-studded cast featuring new reality TV rookies and many returning fan favorites.
Among the veteran cast members will be Chris “CT” Tamburello, Johnny Bananas, Cara Maria Sorbello, Ashley “Millionaire” Mitchell, Leroy Garrett, and Nany Gonzalez.
Rookies will arrive from shows including Big Brother, Survivor, Amazing Race, Married at First Sight, and even lesser-known shows like Netflix’s Cheer.
They’ll team up with different veterans throughout the season as they attempt to survive the game and achieve history with a Challenge championship.
And all of the veteran players have either competed in a final or won a season or two, making for an intriguing setup.
However, fans were quick to point out that they feel one former finalist—MTV UK star Kyle Christie—is sorely missed from the cast as the show returns for Season 41.
The Challenge fans expressed opinions about Kyle returning to compete
While there’s plenty of star power on this upcoming season of The Challenge, fans believe one of the show’s stars is desperately needed.
That’s none other than MTV UK star Kyle Christie, who has appeared in multiple seasons of The Challenge.
On a Reddit subforum devoted to the competition series, fans sounded off about not getting to see Kyle on the show once again. The subforum post’s author suggested that it would’ve been great to see Kyle and Rogan O’Connor as castmates again.
“He should have been on 40. He was a huge part of era 4. Probably up there with most appeareances for a male in era 4,” one fan commented.
Season 40 was the recent Battle of the Eras featuring 40 of the show’s “all-time stars.” Among those featured on Era 4 were the UK’s Theo Campbell and Jenny West. Theo is returning on 41, while Jenny seemingly retired from The Challenge.
Another Reddit commenter said, “Easily one of the best casting decisions of the past decade. They should bump up his appearance fee to lure him back.”
“I miss Kyle! I loved having his prescence in the show, he’s a good instigator,” another individual commented.
There are also those fans who seem happy to not have Kyle appearing on their screens again for the MTV show.
“Not me. Never liked him,” a Reddit comment said.
“Wasn’t he on like 7 or 8 szns in a row? I’m glad we got a break from him bc that was a lot,” a commenter said.
When was Kyle’s last appearance on The Challenge?
It seems like it’s been a while since fans have seen Kyle Christie on MTV’s competition series. He initially debuted on Vendettas which was the 31st season of the show.
And his debut seemed impressive as the rookie reached his first final for The Challenge. He followed that up with appearances on Final Reckoning, War of the Worlds, and War of the Worlds 2.
With his return on Total Madness, he reached his second-ever final along with Johnny Bananas and Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat. Kyle then appeared on Double Agents, but was unable to return to the final.
His third appearance in the final came during Spies, Lies & Allies. He and teammate Tori Deal were on the brink of winning the season, only to lose a close one to CT and Kaycee Clark. That was also the last time fans saw him on MTV’s competition show.
Kyle’s appearances on the show have included some intriguing storylines, such as his flirtations and romances. Particularly, his story with Cara Maria and then her new love interest Paulie Calafiore provided some great drama during Final Reckoning.
There are those who also feel Kyle hasn’t returned due to “allegations” against him for his time on the show, but he’s previously shut down these rumors himself on the Zach Nichols Podcast. Kyle claimed he’s been preoccupied with filming for his initial UK show, Geordie Shore, instead.
Along with that, he and his wife have a child they are raising together which can certainly take one’s time. However, once that kid is a bit older, it seems possible fans might see Kyle surface again on MTV’s The Challenge!
The Challenge: Vets & New Threats premieres Wednesday, July 30 at 8/7c on MTV.
