Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. are taking a break.
NBC’s trio of Wednesday night dramas will go on hiatus during the 2026 Winter Olympics.
As NBC begins its coverage of the games, its primetime shows have to be pulled from the rotation.
Fear not, for the shows shall return, but it might seem like a long break.
At least NBC recently announced a huge three-show crossover for this spring.
Also, a promo reveals two huge stars returning to the fold.
When is the One Chicago 2026 hiatus?
First, the good news.
Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. have many episodes left to air this spring.
Each show had been airing new episodes since returning with the winter premieres, but a scheduled break was inevitable.
Following the February 4 episodes, the One Chicago shows went on hiatus.
The next new episodes won’t arrive until March. But at least the first night back will be the huge crossover teased above.
In summation, the next new episode isn’t until March 4. Mark down that date on your calendar.
More new episodes will follow as the shows ramp up for the stretch run.
More news from the One Chicago shows
A lot of action has hit the One Chicago shows lately.
It was recently revealed that a main character is leaving Chicago Fire. It will really shake things up during the remaining episodes of Season 14.
Chicago Fire fans also miss Mouch. He’s the heart of the show, and any episode without Christian Stolte as Randall “Mouch” McHolland is a disservice to the fans.
Luckily, someone also returned to Chicago Fire during the January 28 episode. It’s a treat for the fans, but maybe not as much for Firehouse 51.
Elsewhere, Chicago P.D. fans have missed Ruzek, and here’s why he has been gone. Having a key member of the Intelligence team missing in action has caused chaos.
Even though the team has had to adjust without Ruzek, it has allowed other characters to really step up. We are seeing flashbacks to the old Hank Voight, where he was willing to do anything to solve a case. That’s what fans have been begging to see for a long time.
Unfortunately, there have been rumors about Jason Beghe leaving the Chicago P.D. cast. He has played Hank Voight for years, and the show wouldn’t be the same without him.
Previous episodes of Med, Fire, and P.D. are available for streaming on Peacock.
New episodes of the One Chicago shows air Wednesday nights on NBC beginning at 8/7c.
