Survivor finale time shifts at CBS for President Trump’s speech

The Survivor 49 season finale will be altered a bit for much of the country. The primetime schedule for December 17 changed at CBS. This has created a break in the schedule.

President Donald Trump announced a previously unscheduled primetime address for Wednesday night. It begins at 9/8c p.m. on most major networks.

But that’s also finale night for Survivor 49, meaning a three-hour episode awaits the fans. To make it work, CBS is inserting a break within its primetime presentation.

A change to the Survivor 49 season finale on CBS

The Survivor 49 season finale will begin as normal for Central and East Coast viewers. The event starts at 8/7c. CBS has then inserted a break for the new speech from President Trump, creating a natural transition from the show over to the speech.

The final two hours of the finale will then continue after the speech for the viewers in the Central and Eastern time zones. The timing of the speech should not impact viewers in the Mountain or West time zones.

As a reminder, the Survivor 49 finale consists of two hours of gameplay, and then a final hour that serves as a pizza party reunion in Fiji. Someone leaves the island with a $1 million prize, and two of these players head directly to Survivor 50.

Here’s a link to the Survivor 50 cast. It features many notable folks from the New Era. A few legends from the past are also included, with 24 people competing during the 50th season.

And here’s a link to the Survivor 49 season finale promo. The action is ramped up in the early footage, showcasing the final five players in their final moments of the season.

Rizo Velovic, Savannah Louie, Sophi Balerdi, Kristina Mills, and Sage Ahrens-Nichols made it to the final five of Season 49. And don’t forget that Rizo still has his Hidden Immunity Idol.

Hopefully, the speech on December 17 doesn’t ruin the flow of the big finale. Who do you think will win the season? Weigh in with your predictions below!

Didn’t need to make room for the speech! We won’t watch it anyway. Thanks for trying to be helpful. Can’t wait for the final show. We think it was good this year. Always look forward to show!
