Blue Kim blasts Johnny Bananas in The Challenge Season 41 teaser

Get ready for newer reality TV stars to potentially clash with the older, more seasoned MTV stars when The Challenge: Vets and New Threats arrives!

The competition series will feature popular veteran competitors and newcomers from shows including Are You the One?, Married at First Sight, Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Big Brother.

We recently saw an exciting Season 41 Supertrailer, which showcased many of the competitors and some of the potential drama to come in the episodes.

And based on some of the other promotional clips we’re seeing with various cast members, more than a few rookies don’t want to be associated with Johnny Bananas!

The Challenge has notoriously brought in newcomers from CBS’s Big Brother ever since fans saw D’avonne Rogers, Joze Flores, Natalie Negrotti, and Paulie Calafiore.

Over the show’s seasons, others have joined the competition series, including Amber Borzotra, Josh Martinez, Kaycee Clark, and Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat. Amber and Kaycee have since become Challenge champions.

Several more BB rookies are coming in hot for Vets and New Threats. We already saw Johnny Bananas warn America Lopez in a previous video, and now we’re seeing another rookie blast the seven-time champ.

At least one Big Brother star dislikes Bananas

On Thursday, The Challenge released a promotional video across their social media platforms, which once again features the rookies under the spotlight.

In the video, fans learn which of the vets each rookie most wants to team up with for the competition show, as well as which they’d most like to avoid.

America, who previously said she has watched more of The Challenge than all the cast members combined, said she “loves CT” and would team up with him among the veterans. Other rookies chose Theo Campbell, Aviv Melmed, Leroy Garrett, Olivia Kaiser, and Michaela Bradshaw.

However, when it comes to avoiding specific individuals as major threats, one name consistently appeared: Johnny Bananas.

Survivor’s Dee Valladares indicated that she thought Bananas is a threat due to having “a lot of enemies” and she “might not want that on [her side].”

Blue Kim also expressed disinterest in having anything to do with the multi-time champion in some eye-opening remarks.

“It would definitely be Johnny Bananas. His attitude. His [censored]. I don’t like it. I’m not here for it,” Blue said.

Bananas has a history with other Big Brother stars on The Challenge

We’ve seen Bananas involved in several prominent storylines on and off The Challenge that involved stars from Big Brother.

It’s hard to forget his showmances with Natalie and Morgan Willett. The latter became serious with Bananas, and the two dated for a considerable time after partnering up on War of the Worlds.

However, it ended messily as some reality TV relationships do, when Morgan discovered Bananas had cheated on her and ended things with him.

She’s since spoken about her ex and the relationship in not-so-flattering terms.

Bananas and Paulie also had their history, which included Paulie and Natalie defeating Bananas and Tony Raines during The Challenge: Final Reckoning elimination. In War of the Worlds 2, Paulie assured Bananas he wouldn’t put him into elimination, and then did it anyway to oust him from the game.

For several seasons after WOTW2, Paulie and his girlfriend, Cara Maria Sorbello, seemed to be ostracized from appearing on The Challenge. Many speculated that Bananas used his power with production to prevent them from being on the show.

Paulie and Bananas appear to have since mended their differences. In addition, Bananas seems to have good relationships with several other castmates from Big Brother, including Josh, Amber, Fessy, and Kaycee.

We’re wondering what set Blue off and if she and Bananas can coexist on The Challenge. Based on a major twist, it appears that rookies will need to work with whichever veterans they’re partnered with!

The Challenge: Vets and New Threats premieres Wednesday, July 30 at 8/7c on MTV.
